I make these earrings myself with care and love.
The stunning honey bee motif is my own design. The bee engraving is set on a lightly engraved backdrop within a hexagon frame, gorgeously reminiscent of filled honeycomb.
I engrave and cut my designs from sheets of wood using a laser. The wood I use is a high-quality Birch ply. It is from fully certified, sustainable sources and therefore ideal for the eco-conscious.
I clean, condition, and sand the wood by hand before adding hand painted accents that make the bee design pop: gold to the bee’s body and silver to its wings. I use glistening, metallic paints for this which catch the light beautifully. I also seal this paint with varnish for a lasting finish.
High-quality, silver plated posts and scroll backs allow these earrings to be worn and fastened with comfort and ease.
I apply a layer of resin between the back of the wood and the posts to reinforce this join. This also gives the undersides of the studs a refined, polished look that sits comfortably against the ear.
