2023 and Me

Hi friends! Yes, it’s been a while. Like the majority of people in the UK, I was unwell in January. This meant I had to strip my work duties back to the bare minimum whilst I focused on surviving. Sadly, January’s blog post didn’t make the cut. I was going to write about all of my plans for 2023 but, having only just regained the ability to sit up and type, my ambition has been slightly checked by my will to ensure that my heart keeps beating. Only slightly though. So on that note, let me share a few positives about the year coming up:

  1. I got a Cricut!
Because when cutting things with light fails: get a blade! Yes, that’s right: I can now cut vinyl, pleather and much more to my hearts content! The combination of a laser cutter and a Cricut has me feeling pretty unstoppable.

  2. The Events shop is evolving
I’m finally starting to make and photograph all my prototypes. This is a long term project but hopefully by 2024 it will be completely filled.

  3. Upping my social game
I’m scared to write this down as it feels like famous last words. It’s the first thing I drop when I don’t have the capacity to do everything (and it’s certainly the aspect of my business that I feel most unsure of) but, I am keen to better myself. Wish me luck!

  4. More Markets
I’m just starting to apply to a few market’s for the year ahead. Hopefully I’ll make the cut and be able to spread more Greenwood Gifted cheer across the Midlands!

  5. Let there be light!
High on my list of new product ideas its lightboxes, lampshades and LED nightlights. I can’t wait to get started with these!

  6. Fabric Printing
From apparel to tea towels, I plan on drawing on pretty much everything. Honestly, what isn’t improved with the addition of a highland cow?

  7. Nacho is learning to skateboard
Only time will tell how useful this is for business purposes but it seemed important enough to share nonetheless.

For now, top of the list is continuing my recovery back to chronically, rather than acutely, ill. I’ve made great progress in the last few days and am very excited that things are starting to look up. I think it says a lot that as soon as I am able to do a bit more, the first thing I want to do is get stuck back in with my business and write some content for you lovely lot! I hope you’ve all have had a good start to the year so far. Here’s to a happy and (hopefully) healthier time ahead! ❤
